2、Course Introduction
2.1 Mathematical Analysis
This course is a main basic course and application of mathematics teaching, information and computer science, statistics, information security and other professional, through the course, on the one hand, for the follow-up courses, such as: the function of complex variable function and functional analysis of real variable differential equations, differential equations, numerical solution, differential geometry, probability theory, theoretical mechanics course and the elective course provides the necessary basic knowledge, but also to provide the necessary training to cultivate students' ability to work independently, the students learn the basic contents and methods of this course, have a key role in learning and application in the future. Therefore, students are required to have a better understanding of the basic concepts and basic theories of the course, and to train students' operational skills and mathematical thinking and argumentation skills through a great deal of exercises.
Suggested Textbook: Department of Mathematics of East China Normal University,
《Mathematical Analysis》, Higher Education Publishing Press.
2.2Advanced Algebra
Advanced algebra is a basic and importantcourse in Mathematics. It s main task is to enable students to systematically obtain some basic mathematical thinking methods, polynomial theory, linear algebra and other aspects of knowledge. On the one hand, it provides some basic theories and tools for further study of college students. On the other hand, it plays an important roleto improve the students' thinking abilities, develop students' intelligence, strengthen the "Three Basics" (basic knowledge, basic theory and basic skills) , and cultivate students' ability to work independently. Through the study of this course, students can master systematically the basic theory of polynomial and linear algebra, and understand some ideas and methods of algebra. This is good to improve abstract thinking, logical reasoning and computing ability. Understanding the basic concepts and methods of AdvancedAlgebra correctly will further improve the ability to analyze and solve problems, and lay a solid foundation for further study of subsequentcourses.

2.3 Analytic Geometry
This course is a professional basic compulsory course for the students majoring in information and computing, statistical professional. Through the establishment of rectangular coordinate system, it organically combines the "shape" and "number" together, makes geometry, algebra and analysis constitute an organic whole, which will lay a solid foundation for the other branch of mathematics and geometry of the mutual penetration, mutual promoting. This plays an important role on learning of higher mathematics.
This course firstly introduces the method and knowledge of analytic geometry, to cultivate students' ability of using the analytic method to solve geometric problems, spatial skills and the ability of using the method of analytic geometry knowledge in the actual problem. and to further study of higher algebra, mathematical analysis and other related courses to prepare, and to lay a good foundation for the further study of modern mathematics.
Suggested Textbook: WeiShengQiu,《Analytic Geometry》,Peking University Publishing Press.
2.4 Ordinary Differential Equations
Ordinary differential equation is a mathematical discipline which concerns with the basic theory of differential equation and the corresponding basic method. It is a professional basic course of information and computing science majors. This course should enable students to grasp some common methods for solving differential equations, and it can combine the theoretical knowledge with practical problems.
Suggested Textbook:GaoXiong Wang etc.,《Ordinary Differential Equations》,
Higher Education Publishing Press.
2.5 Probability and Mathematical Statistics
Probability & Statistics is one of the important and basic courses for information and computation science majors. With rich content and strong practicability, it is the branch of mathematics concerned with analysis of random phenomena and statistical regularity in the really world. The corresponding theory and methods have been widely used in industry, agriculture, military and scientific technology. The central objects of Probability & Statistics are random events and their probability, one dimensional and multi-dimensional random variables and distributions, the figure features of random variables, law of large numbers and central limit theorem, parameter estimation, hypothesis test, etc.
